hi there, our son is wanting to become a pilot he’s In yr 10 and is due to take his GCSE’s next year. What would you suggest he does from 16-18 until he can apply. He is open to doing a levels if this would help with the application process, but he’s unsure of what to take? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks 🙏

Thankyou for reaching out to us. We are delighted to know your son would like to train to become a pilot. It is a wonderful career and a great opportunity to travel and explore new cultures along the way.
Our minimum requirement regarding qualifications is 5 GCSE including Maths, English, and a science. Maths must be a B/6 and the others C/4 . If he has these grades, he is eligible to apply.
My advice would be for him to perhaps get a part time job during the summer so he can develop some life skills. Customer facing roles are good. I am thinking our MPL cadet scheme would be a great option for him I have attached a link for further information and what it entails. If he was to be successful to assessment centre, we are looking for a true passion for the role of becoming a TUI pilot and for him to let his personality shine through.
