I would love to work in resort. I have exceptional people skills and work daily with people in many different situations. I also only speak English and wondered if this would be a barrier.

No, you dont need any travel industry experience. If you have people skills and you are an open person you have very important skills for a job in one of our destinations . Its not a barrier if you just speak english as the business language is english and many of our guests have great english skills.
