I've been an apprentice at TUI once - now I am developing colleagues!
I've started my apprenticeship at TUI in 2011 and left the company to discover myself and my strenghts. I've studied Social Science and used every opportunity to learn more about hospiltality - from being a waitress to working full time as a membership consultant. I've travelled to Canada to study about the indigeniuos people and how tourism affects their modern lifes. What I really learned during that time? That I am meant to support others in their indivudal career journey and on their development paths. So I went back to university to study Vocational Education and to gain pedagogical knowledge and the needed skillset to train people. I've worked for big players like Deutsche Bahn and other organisations. Always with a passion for talents and people development.
I design effective learning & development actions for hotel collegues
When joining TUI again after almost 10 years of absence, everything started to make sense: I am now the Expert for Learning & Development for our hotel brand TUI BLUE. Now I can share my knowledge about hospitality and tourism with people who are working directly with the most important stakeholders - our guests! I hospitality it is highly important that employees can identifiy themselves with the brand and bring the service standards and our brand values to life. With a focus on people & leardership development I am highly invested in creating effective learning & development actions that are sustainable and meaningful.
Being a connector within international teams and projects
I am the brand ambassador for TUI BLUE within very various and dynamic team structures. I am part of a broader CoE structure and working with an international Learning & Development team in very interesting and future oriented programs. I am responsible for adapting existing concepts or designing new actions for TUI BLUE that fit the needs of the brand and its employees. Nowing exactely what my target group and my hotel colleagues need is one of my biggest strenghts and I can now be the link between the TUI as a group and TUI BLUE as a brand. This can be challenging and working with international stakeholders can be pretty overwhelming, but in the end we all have the same goal to reach: To create unforgettable moments for our guests.
Always be yourself and stand in for your unique strenghts and values!
Bringing a new role to life without conceding!
When I started at TUI BLUE, my role was completely new. There has never been a central position to coordinate the Learning & Development actions and give strategic guidance for the hotels. And yes, it's been a hell of a ride thorugh all the challenges I needed to face during my first year in role. Reorganizations, strategic target setting and new stakeholders made my job quite challenging from time to time. But in the end we have now built a strong fundament to work for the future of the brand and the strong growth!
