What do you like about your job and the company?

I am the brand ambassador for TUI BLUE within very various and dynamic team structures. I am part of a broader CoE structure and working with an international Learning & Development team in very interesting and future oriented programs. I am responsible for adapting existing concepts or designing new actions for TUI BLUE that fit the needs of the brand and its employees. Nowing exactely what my target group and my hotel colleagues need is one of my biggest strenghts and I can now be the link between the TUI as a group and TUI BLUE as a brand. This can be challenging and working with international stakeholders can be pretty overwhelming, but in the end we all have the same goal to reach: To create unforgettable moments for our guests.

Greatest achievements

When I started at TUI BLUE, my role was completely new. There has never been a central position to coordinate the Learning & Development actions and give strategic guidance for the hotels. And yes, it's been a hell of a ride thorugh all the challenges I needed to face during my first year in role. Reorganizations, strategic target setting and new stakeholders made my job quite challenging from time to time. But in the end we have now built a strong fundament to work for the future of the brand and the strong growth!

If you are in the early part of your career, my advice for you would be to keep your options much wider. You will be in a better place to identify your potential as you progress in your career, much similar to a practical experience as compared to the textbook knowledge. If you are already an experienced professional then my advice would be somewhat different. You should go after the job that doesn't feel like a job but something you love doing (... and then you never have to work again, as the quote goes). One of the important factors of loving what you do is to continuously learn new things because learning expands your limit of thinking and then the ability to organically take up new challenges. My other advice to anyone on the success path is to believe in self-potential. It is possible to achieve anything but only as long as we believe in our efforts and keep trying. If we don't fail then we didn't try, so it is perfectly fine to fail so long as we learn from failures.
