I firmly believe in the value of learning and growth. For me, saying "I don't know" isn't a conclusion—it's an invitation to explore and understand. This mindset, deeply rooted in my upbringing, comes from my father, who taught us that curiosity and persistence are essential traits. Whether it’s acquiring a new skill, trying out a new recipe, or mastering a tool in Word, I view learning as an ongoing journey that enriches both personal and professional life. Every new piece of knowledge adds value, equipping me to tackle challenges creatively and with confidence. To me, learning is not optional—it’s a lifelong pursuit that continuously opens doors.

We take a large cross section of the social community and of customers on holiday so equally its important that our colleagues and you feel comfortable in liaising and interacting with them. When I started in the role it was very different, where each crew member was like another but over the years and the transformation of TUI we have learnt that being different and unique is why our customers keep booking with us. Bringing you personality means you can interact in a way that customers enjoy, being respectful and professional does not mean you cant build a rapport and enjoy your working day with us. These skills will also enhance as you progress through your career with TUI, with each role allowing you to explore more about the differences we can make to our colleagues and customers.

Always try to do what you enjoy the most, and have fun while doing it. Be true to your principles and values, and always stay true to yourselves. Don't be afraid to try, and above all, don't be afraid to make mistakes. Always be genuine, and try to evaluate situations from various perspectives. Our reality and preferences may not always be the best for the company and the team, and we shouldn't let that discourage us or make us give up.

I would like to think the key thing to remember is that we are individuals, and as individuals, we share a common passion for travel. My best advice to any potential candidate is BE YOURSELF! I have always brought my personality to work and always made friends all over the world in each destination I've worked in, to date. One other piece of advice I'd give, is use your nerves to your advantage; the reason we get nervous is because we are doing something far outside of our comfort zones. Starting a career with us means you'll eventually overcome those nerves the minute you step foot on the plane when you're travelling to your new destination. Keep an open mind, learn new languages, cultures, experience different things and you'll see just how big the world really is!
