From Spain to the UK, and back in the pursue of a career

Moved to the Uk to improve language skills and in the search of better career prospects. I worked for Royal Mail for a number of years taking different roles, until in 2013 landed my first managerial role. From there on, my career as Project Manager has gone from strength to strength. I left the UK in 2020, moving back to Spain where I have completed a Masters in Project Management and started developing a career in IT. I joined Tui in December 23. So far, it has been amazing to learn about the business and its different systems. People across the organization are really friendly. Excited to see where this journey will take me!

I am a project manager involved in deploying IT related projects across a number of work areas.

The variety. Every day is different!

The best thing about being involved in projects is that you get to participate and shape this new business initiative since day one until completion. It provides a great sense of achievement to know you have helped shaping the future of the business Being part of a project team can also help you develop new skills, learn from others, and expand your network.

Work hard, but smart. Listen to others and learn from them.

Look out for experienced colleagues who can provide you with an overview of the business unit you are assigned to. Try and develop a critical mindset keeping the business in mind for every decision you take. Avoid working in silos.

Delivering complex projects whilst ensuring engagement is maintained.

I delivered complex projects for a number of programmes over achieving at each of the KPIs set for the projects. The thing I am proud the most, is that I did it whilst maintaining the engagement with staff & Unions.
