From being an Account Executive to a global HR Business Partner
My most important career moves began with moving from Sales to Learning Development which was motivated by me realising my passion for making a difference for Employees and Employers. This led me into a career in HR where I gained my CIPD masters.
Whilst building my career in HR from the route of the function a strength was partnering and employee relations and it was at this point I realised I had an natural interest in Law so now I am developing my career in that direction by working towards an Bachelors in Law. I truly believe learning is how we grow both personally and professionally.
A trusted strategic people partner for all
I am currently a Global HR Business Partner where I am passionate about enabling TUI to build inclusive, values led, high performing cultures. I do this by being proactive, pragmatic and solutions focused HR professional drawing on previous experiences and current trends and practices. I thoroughly enjoy developing and implementing effective people strategies by actively understanding and listening to people.
Working with people who believe and want to make a difference
Being a people centric HR Business Partner I am energised by enabling high performance through to power of our people and to do this we must understand what is important to the organisation and it greatest asset 'the people'. Only then can we meaningfully make a positive impact. This can be achieve through several initiatives such as Learning & Development, positive Employee Relations and fostering a culture conducive of our values 'Trust, Unique & Inspiring'.
Always believe YOU can and YOU will, never give up!
Throughout my career I have had obstacles to overcome, sometimes I didn't succeed but I would use this to learn more and try again. I have learnt that the phrase 'try, try and try again' is real.
I always have looked at where I want to be and developed a plan to get there, sometimes I have detoured from the route but that's ok, as long as I make it in the end. Believing I will drives me forward.
having to courage to pursue my career aspirations
I wasn't the type of student at school who desired to go to university, so I went straight into the world of work. This taught me many valuable skills which helped begin my career and work ethics. It was when I was in my 30's that I realised what career I actually wanted and enrolled myself into university whilst working full time. I then got the study bug and saw that if I really wanted something I could find a way to work towards it and get it. And now at the grand old age of 46 I am coming towards the end of another university honours degree to work towards my next career goal.
