We've worked on a larger project which focused on retiring four legacy systems which were all roughly 20 years old into one new application. These older applications were tailored exactly to their needs but had grown into something nobody could sustain or upgrade anymore without breaking something else. Seeing the user base progress on to our new platform and enjoy the perks of having a modern, easily maintainable solution instead was amazing. I loved how the business was able to come together and compromise on functionalities that were ever so slightly different in their respective legacy systems and come up with great ideas that worked for all of them.
Of course there were set backs and times where we thought the project would never finish - but the finished product came out great so it was all worth it.
